Review
My girlfriend and I had traveled over from the Leeds area for the day to visit family and friends for the day and made a last minute decision to stay overnight so that we could go out with friends. We tried several hotels but being a Friday night the town was quite busy and everyone seemed to be selling their last few remaining rooms at top dollar prices. I had been recommended The Royal but didn’t go there first as I expected it to be out of my price range, but as everyone else appeared to be charging high rates I thought it was worth a try. I called their reservations number and was surprised to find I was quoted a pretty good price – so I booked it there and then. When we arrived the hotel was very busy and we had to queue at reception. One of the receptionists was obviously new and was struggling to cope, but the other lady soon took control and we were checked in and in our room before we knew it. The only hitch was that we had booked a double and the room was actually made up as a twin, but we were so relieved to have found a nice hotel and the room was so nice and big, that we didn’t care, we simply pushed the beds together! We had a great night out in Scarborough that night, ending up a the fabulous Casino just down the road. Next morning I took full advantage of the Buffet Breakfast, treating myself to the full English! I would certainly recommend The Royal in Scarborough to anyone – it’s not as expensive as you may think and it’s a smashing hotel.
